How long will the John Williams door designer take when he visits my home?

Normally the visit will take about an hour for our designer to make all the necessary measurements and discuss all the design options you can choose from.

Does John Williams make its own doors?

Yes, John Williams is a leading regional manufacturer of UPVC doors. That’s why we can offer you some of the best products and prices available on the market.

What colours can I choose for my doors?

John Williams’ doors are available in a range of colours. Even though the standard manufactured colour is white, we also offer eight different colours. As well as the popular brilliant white doors, you can also choose traditional wood grains in the rich, dark elegance of Rosewood or the attractive lighter Golden Oak option. There’s also our exciting new range which includes cream, whitegrain, green, grey, rustic cherry and black. Do you sell wooden doors or any other timber products?

Because we specialise in high grade PVC, we don't sell windows or doors made from wood. However, we do offer a range of realistic woodgrain effect doors that look as good if not better than timber itself.  So with our realistic wood effect doors you can achieve the traditional look of timber but without the continual maintenance problems like painting, rotting and warping of real wood.

Are John Williams doors compliant with building regulations?

Yes, all our products including doors are compliant with the latest Building Regulations.

How secure are your doors?

Very secure! All our doors feature multi-locking systems as standard. Extra throw bolts, subtle peepholes and security chains can also be fitted if required. Our Patio and Bi-fold doors also feature key-operated deadlocks.

How safe is the glass?

In our French, Patio and Bi-Fold doors we use tempered safety glass specially designed to withstand impacts and manufactured to the highest British safety standards.

I have heard about energy rated windows – what does an A-rating mean?

The A rating system tells you how energy efficient your glazing is according to the UK-wide BFRC Rating Scheme. This system is recognized within the Building Regulations to show how your glazing complies with the scheme. The rating scheme is from A to G - with A being the highest rating.

Can I purchase doors for my properties that are located abroad?

Yes, we can offer you a supply only service on windows and doors for orders outside of the UK. However, we are not able to offer a shipping service so you will need to collect your goods from our factory and pay for the goods when you order them. Can you match my existing doors?

John Williams offers one of the widest product ranges available so we can usually provide you with a very close match to your original doors. If not, our outstanding range of styles, materials, glass types, colours and door furniture will enable us to provide you with an attractive alternative.

Can John Williams fit doors in listed properties or those located in conservation areas?

Yes, John Williams offers a range of traditional products that are suitable for listed properties or those in conservation areas. You may require permission from your local authority. Can you supply a single door?

Yes of course, we can sell individual doors made to your exact measurements and specifications.

Does John Williams belong to FENSA?

Yes. FENSA (Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme) ensures replacement windows and doors comply with the current Building Regulations in both England and Wales. When replacing windows and doors, you must obtain a certificate of thermal performance compliance from FENSA or from Local Authority Building Control. FENSA allows John Williams to offer our own compliance certificates, so we do this for you.

How much will it cost to replace my doors?
